D. Bello makes a $10,000 contribution to the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Jun. 23, 2022 – D. Bello, a leading remote workforce solution in the real estate title space, announced that it has made a donation to the American Land Title Association (ALTA) Good Deeds Foundation. The $10,000 gift provides support to the foundation’s mission of assisting title professionals in charitable efforts to their local communities.

Launched in 2020, the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation bolsters the charitable efforts of ALTA members by awarding grants to 501(c)(3) organizations. These organizations are nominated by members, and grants are awarded twice a year through a competitive application process. In March, the foundation awarded $6,000 each to 20 charities at the annual ALTA Springboard event in Tampa, Florida. The foundation will announce the next round of award winners at ALTA ONE in October.

D. Bello’s Title Production Workforce facility obtains ISO certification for security 

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Nov. 30, 2021 – D. Bello, a leading remote workforce solution partner in the real estate title space, is capping off a successful 2021 with a new accreditation relating to digital security and data protection. 

The Southern California company announced today that its main production facility recently gained certification in compliance with the requirements set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The specific standard, ISO 27001:2013, met by the company stipulates that it has the proper procedures in place to manage data security through its Information Security Management System (ISMS). 

“We have always been committed to the security of our systems and operations. Our clients continue to be confronted by a mix of industry and regulatory requirements, and we want to ease our clients’ path to compliance,” said D. Bello CEO Jeffrey Bates. “The matter of data security is never absolute, but taking available strides toward advancing security is a must in today’s technological climate." 

To receive this recognition, the company underwent a rigorous third-party assessment of its production facility where hundreds of Title Production WorkforceTM staff perform services on a daily basis. The audit was completed by QRC, accredited by the International Accreditation Service, and included an evaluation of its business process outsourcing services, along with support functions of human resources, administration, information technology, accounting and data control. 

With this independent review, company COO Andrew Acker says clients can be confident that D. Bello is doing everything it can when it comes to managing its collective information security risks. 

“Obtaining this certification provides our clients with a wide array of additional protections including data security, risk management and business continuity,” he said. “I am incredibly proud of the numerous individuals within our organization who went above and beyond this past year to deliver on our goal."

Building upon a run of record-breaking years, D. Bello has added another accomplishment: An updated look to match the company’s new objectives and products as a leader in the real estate title industry.

It's true. We've found a new place to call home. It's just as amazing with ever better weather and a $5 Uber ride to one of Southern California's best airports (hint, it's not LAX). As a company that travels as much as we do, anyplace we can open up a laptop and type typically serves as a functional workspace.

However, there's a lot of important work that goes on in our home office [aside from games on the dart board and office puzzles]. As our CEO Jeffrey Bates said in the Title News Press Release, "our new office location will allow us to expand our capabilities in key areas and continue to attract top talent. Newport Beach’s close proximity to John Wayne Airport also facilitates more efficient and effective travel and interaction with our clients nationwide. Service is a core value in our business and this move strategically allows us to build on that. Our team is excited about the growth we are experiencing and no one seems to mind the local climate either."

Doug Bello Awarded National Title Professional Designation

Pasadena, California based D. Bello Associates Founder and President Doug Bello has been awarded a National Title Professional (NTP) designation from the American Land Title Association (ALTA), effective August 1, 2014.

ALTA is the national trade association of the land title insurance industry. According to ALTA’s website, the NTP designation “recognizes the land title professionals who have demonstrated the knowledge, experience, and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.” Doug is currently one of just 35 individuals who have earned an NTP designation.

Doug has worked in the land title insurance industry for over 40 years. He is the founder and President of D. Bello Associates, which has served the title industry under Bello’s leadership for over 25 years. Prior to D. Bello Associates he has had multiple positions within the title industry, most notably as president of Title Records, Inc, the largest title plant in the United States throughout the 1980’s.

Doug’s knowledge of title is unquestioned. He’s consulted for a federal judge on matters of land record organization, and traveled to Russia to offer guidance on land reform and privatization as part of the new Perestroika.

Doug has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Pasadena, Calif.-based D. Bello Associates recently celebrated the 10-year employment anniversary of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Bates on April 25, 2013,

Since joining D. Bello Associates as a customer service representative in 2003, Bates has served as account manager and vice president. In his current position as executive vice president and chief operating officer, he is responsible for executing the corporate strategy and high-level oversight of the operations of the business.

“It’s been amazing to see Jeff grow up in this industry,” said Doug Bello, company founder and President. “Jeff has become a true expert and a key leader in this company.”

“Although there are many industry employees that have celebrated similar milestones, Jeff’s influence and contributions to D. Bello Associates, our clients and the industry as a whole merits special celebration.” Bello continued, “I think this industry has yet to see the best of Jeff.”

Within the industry, Bates serves as a contributor to the Association for Title Information Management (ATIM), is an active member of the American Land Title Association and is a trustee for ALTA’s Title Insurance Political Action Committee.

Outsource Service Provider Announces Changes

D. Bello Associates made several announcements, including a new offshore service provider partnership; founder Doug Bello will return full time to the company; and Andrew Acker was named operations manager.

D. Bello Associates (DBA), a privately held, independent outsource service provider offering title plant, search and exam, and general title consulting services to the industry, announced a new business relationship with an offshore service provider. This relationship will allow DBA to continue offering its clients a wide array of outsourcing options through highly experienced providers.

Company founder and President Doug Bello has elected to return full time to the business. Bello had originally announced a plan to retire from the company late last year. Bello is fully committed to offering his four decades of experience to this expansion and growth. “This new direction is exciting – both for us and for our clients,” said Bello. “Our mission is to offer broader flexibility, continued high quality and lower prices to our clients, while at the same time retaining the service and industry expertise that we have offered for over 20 years.”

D. Bello Associates also announced the hiring of Andrew Acker as its Operations Manager. Acker comes from outside the industry and possesses a wide array of operational and process management skills. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Biola University and is a routine speaker to college students on topics of business and leadership.

Andrew’s skill set and proven track record with operational processes will be prolific for this company,” commented Jeffrey Bates, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President.
